Executive

Led by the Executive Board, the Executive Branch is the primary body of Student Government responsible for implementing most major initiatives and projects throughout the academic year. The Executive Board comprises the President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Internal Affairs, and their respective Chief of Staffs.

Legislative

Led by Senate Leadership, the Legislative Branch serves as the representative body for all 18,000 undergraduate students at Boston University. The legislative branch is composed of the student government senate with representatives from all 9 undergraduate colleges. Additionally, the legislative branch oversees 8 senate committees focused on research and policy implementation.

Judicial

Led by Judicial Leadership, the Judicial Branch serves as the nonpartisan body of Student Government, ensuring fairness across the institution, overseeing annual elections, maintaining institutional archives, and conducting university research. The judicial branch is composed of a group of justices, the Judicial Advisory Commission and the Student Elections Commission.

Our Story

Founded in 1931, Boston University Student Government has been a driving force behind the student experience for nearly a century. From helping establish the BU Bus and advocating for the creation of the LGBTQIA+ Center to hosting last year's historic, sold-out RhettRockz Spring Festival featuring Zara Larsson, Student Government has consistently responded to the needs and aspirations of Terriers through advocacy, innovation, and meaningful engagement.

This year, the 96th Executive Board is building on that legacy with an ambitious agenda. From advancing partnerships with the MBTA and expanding voter engagement ahead of the midterm elections to launching signature events like StuGov Takes on Fenway and RhettRockz '27, our focus is on creating a more connected, accessible, and vibrant campus community.

We are honored to continue Student Government's tradition of advocacy, leadership, and service to all Boston University students. After being recognized this past summer as the most active student government in New England, we remain committed to pushing the boundaries of what student leadership can accomplish and making the BU experience better for every Terrier.

Office Hours

At BU Student Government, one of our top priorities is being accessible to all students. One way we ensure this is through our office hours, where students are welcome to stop by, ask questions, share concerns, or connect with our team.

We are a group of students dedicated to enhancing the student experience at Boston University. From bringing campus traditions like RhettRockz to life to advancing initiatives such as the founding of the BU Bus, we work to create meaningful change and represent all 18,000 undergraduate students.

Yes! Our weekly senate meetings are open to the public! They are at 6PM on Mondays in STH B19.
